Bus Travel To Tagaytay & Matabungkay

After spending time in Manila I plan on heading to Matabungkay for some leisure time. Based on the research I have done, I think I can do the following trip:

(1) Pasay (Manila) to Tagaytay by Erjohn or Celyrosa Line and

spend a few hours exploring (understanding that the Taal Volcano/crater/lake is off limits due o volcanic activity).

(2( Tagaytay To Calatagan by Erjohn or Celyrosa Line and getting off at Altura Crossing

(3) Take Tricycle to Coral Beach Club, Matabungkay.

Is this accurate? Any idea how often the buses run? Are there different type buses (Air Con or Regular)?

Thanks for any feedback.

This is absolutely right. Take note that Altura Crossing is well before reaching Calatagan town, about 10km before, so make sure you get down there. You should be alert after passing Lian. The junction where you get off is shortly after the road goes through a series of winding turns.

Is this still valid for november 2011? and if I just want to go straight to Matabungkay can i stay on the same bus that left from Manila and go straight to Calatagan?

To get to Matabungkay you can also take a bus with a signboard "Nasugbu" at the corner of Buendia Ave. and Taft Ave. in Pasay City.

I just want to be a devil's advocate because in my opinion Matabungkay had its better days. Beaches in Calatagan, Laiya and San Juan in Batangas are way better as the water is clearer and the sand is lighter. If you want to relax and sunbathe on the beach then go to Calatagan, Laiya or San Juan rather than Matabungkay. I am not saying that Matabungkay is bad... there are just better choices. If I have to meet friends or attend an event in Matabungkay I would not mind it at all, but if I have to organize an event myself I would choose Laiya instead.
