Taxi. There is no realistic alternative for you.

Turn left as you exit the terminal building and join the queue for the Yellow Airport Taxi.

A taxi to Ermita will be around 250 pesos. There is a LRT ( mass transit train) line from Baclaran which passes near Ermita but you are not allowed to carry baggage and would involve a taxi at either end. There are jeepneys but unless you know where you are going will not know which one to take and again with any form of luggage this is impracticable, you also cant see where you are inside so again not on.

Taxi. Insist on metered.

Don't even think of trying anything else but a taxi.

Make it a yellow airport taxi. They are metered.

Where to turn to find them will depend on which terminal you are at. There are 4 International Terminals in Manila. I have mostly been using Terminal 2 lately. Used exclusively by Philippine Airlines. At Terminal 2. the yellow taxis are queued up more or less straight ahead as you exit the international arrivals hall.

As rightly pointed out above, Taxi

- no one (including Filipinos) would think of taking public transport after they arrive in the airport!

Even for yellow airport taxi, make sure the fare is clearly displayed on the meter.
