Bus service from Didim to Istanbul

We would like to see some of the countryside on our way to Istanbul and was wondering if there is a bus running all the way from Didim to Istanbul. Would it be a better option to travel by bus to Ankara and then to Istanbul?

Yes there is and to go via Ankara would be a huge big dog leg detour across the country.Kamil Koç,Pamukkale Turizm,Metro Turizm and Ulusoy Turizm all cover this route.

Rather than going directly to Istanbul why not just go as far as Izmir and visit Selçuk Ephesus and Bergama on the way there-if you have time that is.Both Ephesus and Bergama are large, important and interesting historical sites to visit.

There are plenty of buses (of a very high standard) going almost every hour from Didim to Izmir with connections to Istanbul.

The most attractive and interesting places are south of Izmir, so less than three hours from Didim.

Stop a night at Selcuk if you can, and visit Ephesus etc.

Selcuk is an hour south of Izmir, and from there on the scenery is fine but there's nowhere worth staying on the direct route.

If you have more time, go up the Aegean from Izmir to Pergamum (Bergama) and the Gallipoli Peninsula. Stay in Canakkale and then continue to Istanbul - but that's a long way round. Ankara doesn't come into the equation at all.
