Best beach spot

I was wondering where is the best beach spot, especially for kids (7&5).

is gumbet mainly a public beach or several private ones?

do hotels offer day-use for the pool, facilities, etc?

Hi

You have plenty of beach area to choose from in and around Gumbet.

I thought the best beach area was at Bitez which was a short Bus ride away.

Gumbet Beach not too bad. Slightly stoney.

I am more of a pool man myself.

All of the Hotels allow you to use there facilities.

We stayed at the Parkim Ayaz and this was very popular with Families and children as they had a water slide in one of thier pools.

The nicest part of the beach is all the way along to ther right facing the sea. It is sandy there and the sea is much clearer and cleaner than in the middle. There are a few bar/restaurants there and you can use the sunbeds on the beach. There is also a pool in the Gumbet Resort Beach Hotel which you can use.

Gumbet beach is all public apart from where WOW hotel is, that is private.

As Philpeg says Bitez beach is also nice, and suitable for children. Again if you go along to the right when facing the sea it is sandier and there are less stones in the water.

When we went the Beach wasnt that crowded but we did go early June.

I would imagine in July and August it will be busyier like any where else.

Plenty of beds on Beaches so shouldnt be a problem.

Hi,just returned from Gumbet,3rd year running for us...the beach isn't up to much in Gumbet,it's more like builders sand than beach sand....but like the previous post say's the further round the bay you go the better it gets.I'd proberbly hop in a taxi and go to Bitez beach which is much nicer.I'm not really a beach person so it didn't bother us....but it does have good water sports on Gumbet beach.

It doens't get very crowded on the part I mentioned as it is a bit away from the main beach.

if you go by dolmus to bitez from gumbet you have to go to bodrum then to bitez as the dolmus doesnt run from gumbet to bitez vice versa.

so a taxi is the best way, but if you get some flyers from the restaraunts in bitez most will pick you up from your gumbe thotel and take you to their restaraunt and take you back home later, but they expect you to eat and have a drink in their restaraunt which is only right.

just a suggestion!

You can get a dolmus to Bitez from Gumbet but you have walk down (and up on the way back) a killer hill! So yes, I would go by taxi.
