Excursions & Trips from Turgetries

Can anyone reccoemend the best place to book trips from? We are travelling from Thomas Cook but obviosuly prefer to do it as cheap as possible with a reputable local company.

Hi

In the past I've used Turgutreis Tours, but only for tickets to Kos, not for any other trips. They seem a good, well established company. They have a small office in the town centre and also a larger main office on the road directly behind the Aegean Dream Hotel.

Gulet trips are generally best booked direct with the boat on the habour.

Can you tell me how long the boat trip takes to Kos, what time the last boat leaves Kos, also the price if you know. Many Thanks Karen

There's a couple of places in the maze of alleys, one called Sofia and the other called CoolDeals.

They're on the same street (don't know the name though).

We eventually booked our trip to Ephesus with CoolDeal.

Sofia had given us a price of £23 but when we went back to book 2 days later the price had gone up to £25.

This was late June this year.

We paid £23 with CoolDeal and everything was fine.

In fact (at least on the big trips), you may find that whichever local company you book with you'll end up on the same coach.

IIRC, the Thomas Cook Trip (which included a trip to Virgin Mary's birthplace) was almost double what we paid.

But, you will get multi-lingual commentary on locally booked tours. Ours was just Russian and English.

Hi Karen

the kos trip takes about 45 mins, when you book your ticket it usually includes a pickup and return to/from your hotel. Tickets are 28 euro.

There is only one ferry per day 10am out 4.30 back.
