Cowboy game where to stay- family of 4

Taking the family to see a Cowboy game over the Thanksgiving holiday. Kids ages 8 and 15. What hotel do you recommend for easy access to the stadium and other local activities? Are there family activities near by? Youngest would love an indoor pool for night time swimming before bed. Does it pay to rent a car? Will be there Tuesday thru Saturday. Thanks!

I like the Comfort Suites on Road to Six Flags Drive, it's a newer hotel and an easy walk to/from the stadium. There was a non-hotel shuttle to the stadium when we went.

Wingate in Arlington was also nice and the hotel had a shuttle run to the stadium as did the Hilton next door. Boston's is a great restaurant there also.

Can't remember about an indoor pool.

Welcome to Texas!

If you don't rent a car you will be at the mercy of a taxi and the airport shuttle to your hotel. Unfortunately, Arlington has no city bus service to get you anywhere to eat or sightsee.

Since you are staying so many days, I am going to suggest taking a look at the Embassy Suites in downtown Fort Worth for several reasons. You mentioned an indoor pool and this one, like most Embassy Suites, has a small but nice one. ES also has complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast and drinks and hors d'oeuvres at an evening reception .

It is hard to beat the Sundance Square area of FW for walkabiity as well as variety of restaurants/entertainment venues. The Stockyards and the Museum District have some great places for families to visit plus the Friday after Thanksgiving there is a Parade of Lights downtown.

Most important for getting to the game, the T (FW bus service) offers a shuttle to Arlington and the stadium on game day.

If you would like to travel without a car to Dallas, the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) is a commuter rail that runs Monday- Saturday, with limited evening and night hours. You could ride it over to Dallas to check out the Sixth Floor Museum or the Perot Museum of Nature and Science or many other things that Dallas has to offer.

The good news about Arlington is that they are starting a limited bus/shuttle route this month. Of course, as with anything, it will be new and untried so we won't be able to advise you on how good it is/how it works for awhile. I plan to ride it next month so I will post then.
