Austin in April- warm enough? what to do?

We are planning a vaca in Austin maybe 3-4 days or so and wanted to know if it is warm enough to swim in the outdoor pool at the lost pines resort and any suggestions for things to do with a 6 and 10 yr old.

It's hard to say with any certainty what the weather will be like in April. Typically, it's getting warm by then, usually in the 80's during the day, but it could also be rainy, and we have still had some very chilly days at the beginning of April some years. I'm not sure if the pool at Lost Pines is heated or not.

It was warm enough yesterday and will be today to swim. It just depends on the fickle weather and your preference,

The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum is interesting and has an IMAX theatre.

Depending on the kids, a visit to the Capitol can be fun.

I just looked at the reviews for this property here on TA and someone who stayed in January commented that the pool was heated. Don't know if that will continue into April--it might be worth a call or email to the hotel to find out about the pool and the lazy river then. If they don't heat it at that time of year the water might be too cool for you/your kids to enjoy--don't know your tolerance for cold water.
