Grindstone versus Beartree Campground

I was hoping someone could give me there opinion on these two campgrounds. Since they are on federal land there isn't a whole of information on them. We have a 7 and 4 year old and will be tent camping in July.

1. Re: Grindstone versus Beartree Campground

We've been to Grindstone Campground but not Beartree. Grindstone has some nice walks around ponds, if I remember correctly. They are both in a beautiful area of Virginia - we hike in that area quite often. Another option might be Grayson Highlands State Park - lots of families tent camp there and enjoy the easier access to hikes and walks along streams, waterfalls, mountains and views of the wild ponies. Hope someone has been to Beartree and can give you some insight.
