macuso safari boat ride and rapel

hello:

Do we need to book in advance the macuso safari boat ride and rapel? or do we just walk to the macuso safari station and the rapel grand canion station and get tickets there?

Thanks

Hi NY!

No advance reservations are needed for the Macuco boat ride. (I don't know about the rappel.)

The best way is to get you hotel clerk or concierge to help you find boat tickets the night before. Prices are soft, and he may be able to sniff out a bargain for you. Your hotel-bought tickets also entitle you to free shuttle transportation from the hotel to the falls and back.

You should not ordinarily need to book a fixed sailing time, if you're not in a big group. Extra boats are standing by in case there's an unusually large turnout that day.

The best time to visit the Brazilian falls is in the morning, when the sun illuminates the panoramic view of the Argentina side.

Be sure to bring a supply of zip-lock plastic baggies to hold important papers, your wallet and purse, and cameras. The boats sail directly under the stream of some of the smaller falls, and all guests can expect to get thoroughly drenched. If you can leave your passports in your car or the hotel, do so. You should not have any need for passports inside the National Park. Crossing to Argentina is not possible from in the national park.

Happy travels! My avatar picture see here was taken on board the Macuco boat.
