    How crazy is NYC-Rio Jan 1 till Jan 6??

    How crazy is NYC-Rio Jan 1 till Jan 6??

    Hi,

    My husband and I can only be out from Jan 1 to Jan 6, and would love to go somewhere warm (away from the NY winter).

    We are seriously considering Rio, although we get only 3 full days (and half day when we arrive).

    How crazy is that?? It's a 13.5 hr flt each way.

    Anyone traveled to Rio on COPA Panama? They have the only affordable flight.

    We are not very beach crazy - we will defi visit Ipanema and Copa for a few hours but don't plan to spend the entire day.

    Please tell us if we are just crazy and should plan to go elsewhere.

    Can anyone suggest great things to do in 3 days?

    First off, finding a place to stay on Jan.1 could be a lot of trouble. Many of the people in Rio for New Years will not be leaving on Jan.1, 2008..

    I would try and come up with somewhere else, less flight time and still warm. What about Miami?
