Got any ideas where a brotha can buy yet another sunga?! (Who'd a thunk it, but I've got four pairs now! :-)

Last time I went shopping for one with cbcito (shout out to him, wherever he may be... :-( some spots in Ipanema were asking over $200US - for a sunga?! Right, I ain't the one. Something less than $75US would be appreciated...

Any tips? Obrigado.

You've got jokes! I'm talking swimwear, meu amigo - of the Brazilian variety - ya know, the ones I thought I'd never be caught dead in. Then I tried a pair on and the rest is history.....

They're a good look, comfortable and cool, and much better than a speedo - tho that's what most Americans would liken them to.

The muse picked out this pair just prior to taking this pix ... She thinks they're sorta kinda Fly! :-)

Hey BFG, thank's for asking the question I've been hesitating to ask. I've been doing a lot more swimming lately and I'm just looking for some swim trunks that aren't board shorts, because that seems to be all anyone sells these days around here. Not sure how or why board shorts have become the standard for swimwear, because they're not actually all that great for actual swimming.

Yeah, M8ck - board shorts are 'in' now, I guess... and I'll bring a coupla pairs down with me ... but, you're right, for actual swimming, sungas are far more comfortable. Moreover, I'm into the whole 'when in Rome...' mindset - and nada says 'Hio' like a sunga! :-) Although you'll see plenty of Cariocas sporting board shorts (over their sungas) or alone...

I purchased my last sunga at Surfs on Rua Francisco Otaviano, 67 in Arpoador for the reasonable price of $50US... I'll likely return there again come Thursday to see what the very friendly owner has on offer. You might wanna check 'em out as well, she has an extensive collection of all things water sports for men and women...

Another (more expensive) option is Blue Man in Ipanema...

You have been robbed.

Sunga's price are no more than R$ 50.

Head to C & A (That famous dutch store).

I think his point was anything under R$ 200. You're pointing only to stuff 5% of the brazilian population can buy.
