Airport taxis - cash or credit card?

I've read the discussions here about the radio taxis vs. yellow cabs at the airport, and the merits of each. Do either of these accept credit cards? (I've also read the warnings about not using the ATM's at the airport due to frequent incidents of fraud...is there an ATM inside the secured arrival area that would be better?)

Thanks!

Avoid all the ATM at the airport. I´m sorry about that.

Almost all the radio taxis can be payed by credit cards;

Almost none of the yellow regular ones can be payed with credit cards.

The radio taxis when payed with cash, you can ask for a 10 % discount. But none of the yellow cabs can be payed with credit card, as far as I know, they go on the meter.

Radio taxis accept credit cards as a payment method. Not all yellow cabs do, but you could ask the drivers if you're looking for a cheaper transfer.

There is a company named Aerocoop Taxi in the airport, they operate out of a yellow booth. They have flat rates that you can prepay with a credit card. You then provide the prepaid voucher to their/your driver. This seems to be the best way to avoid shady activity with cabs. When entering the airport from customs ask the Brazil tourist desk where to find the Aerocoop Taxi stand. I just used this service today and paid R$ 48.00 to get to my hotel on Copacabana Beach.

To take that discount by Aerocoop, that, on the way to the airport (not on the way to city) can be of 20%, you should make a registration before. So. I advise you to give your hotel´s address to do that.

Aerocoop´s contacts:

correio@aerocoop.com.br

I suppose they only give that discount on the way back to the airport.

Hi!

Would you know if this is a price per car or per passenger?

Thank you!
