Niterio- Ferry Boat Ride

How much does it cost to get to Niterio from Copacabana on a ferry boat? Also, what is the best route one should take(bus/taxi) to get to the ferry?

Thanks in advance!!

Ferry to Niterói:

The ferry between Rio and Niteroi takes between 10 and 20 minutes to cross the bay, depending on the fare for a slow or fast boat from adjoining terminals at Praça XV.

You'll need to go by taxi from Copa to the ferry terminal. Probably R $30-$40 and 20 minutes during off peak traffic time.

Do we need to prebook the ferry ride? Could you please share the timings of ferry to and fro and the address of the terminal?

You don't need to prebook the ferry...it's regular public transportation, just like a bus or the subway. Just go there to the ticket booth and purchase your ticket.

You can save a few dollars if you can take the metro to Carioca or Uruguaiana stations and take a short taxi ride. During the week in the daytime, I've walked from the metro as there was a lot of foot traffic.
