Rio's Maracanã stadium area affected by World Cup

Street closures, parking bans, and alcohol sales restrictions will impact businesses and residents near Rio's Maracanã stadium during World Cup matches.

Neighborhood bars and restaurants will also be impacted by the games. According to FIFA regulations, establishments within a reported one to two kilometer radius of the stadium can not sell alcohol during the games.

Silly. People may still be able to buy from folks selling beer on the street. I know that street closures will be common in many cities, making arrival via private car (even with a hired driver) or taxi difficult. In some cities, the airports will be closed from an hour or two before the game until after, as a security measure. Fortaleza's airport is just within the so-called security zone there, so flights have been shifted around. .
