Best bus battambang to Phnom Penh?

Hi!

I'm trying to decide which bus company to choose for my trip from Battambang to Phnom Penh.

I came from Siem Reap using the Capitol Tours bus but it was pretty crowded, people on plastic chairs in the gangway and really loud karaoke "entertainment"... so I thought about trying a different company for the second part of my journey.

So far I found Neak Kror Hom, Phnom Penh Sorya, Ponleu Angkor Khmer, Paramount Angkor and Kampuchea Angkor Expres.

Does anyone have experiences with one of these busses? Any recommendations?

I know the last two companies were in the headlines for their night bus accidents but I'll take a day bus so maybe that's more safe?

Thanks!

I've just arrived in Battambang today on Capitol (Open Tour) from PP, the a/c worked the bus wasn't overbooked & it was only 1/2hr late:) Avoid drinking that day, the toilet stops are nasty!

heliocoelin, you could have a look at this site.

We used Capitol from SR as well, but your trip sounds more ...um...interesting than ours was. The joys of high season I suppose.

Anyway had I known this was an option last May I would have had a closer look.

Have fun

That is interesting.

I was not aware that Giant Ibis was actually operating route PP - BTB - PP.and this is my most traveled route.

Has anyone on this forum actually travelled with them on this route in the past two weeks? If so, please confirm.

No speculators please. Only posters that have genuinely used Giant Ibis PP - BTB or BTB to PP in past forteen days.

Best regards. Ian

I haven't used the Giant Ibis out of BB Ian, then I haven't used their bus into Kampot but thats up and running.

Maybe heliocoelin, the OP can let us know if this is an option.

After all he is there, and he needs a bus back to Phnom Penh.

Fingers crossed.

Sorry to jump in...but are we safe and and on the right track thinking Soraya and Giant Ibis only for all our bus trips?

I don't know, l had always used SORYA and was told they were the best but my last bus trip (and last for a long while) was so horrific and it was sorya, so who knows.

I sometimes think it luck of the draw and day!

www.giantibis.com . Contact them heliocoelin and let us know how you go.

In Kampot you can book via Kampoccino, a cafe in town.

I am not in country and am not speculating, just merely posting some info that may be useful to the original poster, hope it helps.

I've just finished emailing Giant Ibis.

I had a look at their online ticket booking page. There it's not possible to book a bus from Battambang to Phnom Penh.

So... to confirm this, I sent off an email asking if this bus was available or not.

My reply from them....

"We would like to let you know we have no bus run from Battambong to Phnom Penh"

...and...

"We are sorry , We cannot limit the time but we think maybe three month later"

So it looks like this company does not have a bus run for this trip...yet.
