weather in july and august timeframe

My husband and I are interested in visiting this area but i am concerned that it might actually be chilly in july and august. Does the weather really vary throughout the year?

It is always chilly in the desert at night but day temperatures will be pleasantly warm.

Just to add, temperatures during the day will be in the low 70s and a night around freezing. The days will be sunny, guaranteed, and the nights clear.

It will still be warm. There couldbe rain, but most likely it will be dry Santiago north. There willbe more rain and cooler weatherin Southern Chile.

I did not notice that you were posting about San Pedro. There it will be hot during the day, but cold at night, especially around dawn. You can expect lows below freezing but day temperatures in the 30s.
