To the light show - what seats do you recommend? front or centre back? Thanks!

Firstly, it is not a light show.

But there is no point paying to sit at the front. Middle or even back are fine.

The VIP seats are cane chairs right at the back. They have a semi-roof over, so better if it is raining, but too far from the River IMO.

You mean the impression Sister Liu, right? The show at night time is located on the bank of Li River? Do recommend you select the middle seats(CNY 300), not the sides or front seats, which is not of good seats. For the seat in the back area, that's VIPs, too much expensive, about CNY 480

Check the show official website http://www.yxlsj.com/english/theater.asp. You can find that the vip A seat is right at the back of the theater and ordinary C seat is on the front. A seat on the middle is recommended.

Went to the 7.30 show today and have a few points ts to make. Not about the show itself, that was fine, but other things.

First you have to go through airport style security. Not a problem usually but for 3000 people through 4 of them in a mad rush there was a bit of a crush and both my wife and eldest daughter were very upset by it.

Second if you have kids under certain heights they are free or half price. We paid half for both as even though youngest (nearly 5) is short enough to be free they get no seat. Gave us a little folding chair for one but not the other even though I'd paid for 2 (must just assume small =free) and had to kick off to get another.

Finally there is the rain. Absolutely leathered down from the moment the first note was struck til 5 mins before the end. The thunder and lightning was fun tho.

You do get a poncho on arrival though mine was rubbish.

The show was a bit spoiled by these factors. It was still quite spectacular but it's hard to enjoy anything in such weather. Btw we had the 238 yuan tickets.

Oh... Also traffic on the way out was a joke too. Just needs some thinking through and organization as it's one road in and out and there is a second show. So people are arriving as the others are leaving.
