Taishan sunset

Hi everybody,

we are planning the ascent to Mount Taishan at the beginning of august.

We are currently considering two options:

1. going up late morning and going down late afternoon

2. going up mid-afternoon, wait for sunset (about 7:00 PM) and descend in the evening.

I think it should be nice to see the sunset from above and the temperature may be lower, but is it OK to descend in the dark? I also know that there will be no cable car or bus after sunset, in case we get tired...

Thank you!

There is no cable car in the evening. It is okay to descend in the dark. Be sure to bring a flashlight with you. Normally it takes 2-3 hours.
