Hi friends, I'm planning a trip to Lijiang and Shangri-la in the mid-February (Chinese New Year holidays) I've been reading this forum these couple of days and got many ideas about my travel as well as questions. My brief itinerary:
1 day in Kunming - to adapt the altitude at 2000m
3 full days in Lijiang - JDSM, Impression Lijiang show , Lashi Lake, Baisha village, Shuhe and Lijiang old town (wanted to include Lugu lake and Mosuo village, don't think i'll have enough time)
1.5 days in Shangri-la
i was planning to stop-by TLG when on the way to Shangri-la from Lijiang, then i was told it is closed for winter, is that true?
From Lijiang to Shangri-la, the transport is provided by the hotel, it takes about 4 hours, is the road safe during winter?
In Shangri-la, I understand it is very cold, is it very low like –10°C or lower?
During the Chinese New Year holidays, Is the city practically shut down and transportation is often halted completely by snow storms?
Thank you ;)
