My husband and I cannot wait to visit Croatia for the first time at the beginning of July, we have booked 5 nights in a small hotel with pool.
We normally go to a small village in Turkey every summer as the people are fantastic, the service is generally exceptional and prices are so reasonable. Cavtat seems to tick all these boxes after our research.
In Turkey we use the local dolmus or buses and taxis are very cheap, so are day trips by boat or car so we have not needed to book car hire. I'm wondering whether it's worth hiring one in Cavtat for just a couple of days or can we get around easily enough without this option? We are fairly lazy, like walking around and not over planning each day. A trip to the rat museum and Dubrovnik is on our list but we are just as happy sitting in a cafe and people watching.
Also we hope to visit for two weeks next year with our 18 and 16 year olds for the last "family" summer holiday so this is in effect a scouting trip.
Any responses are welcome!! CG :-)
