Croatia Kuna or Euro?

Hi

Is it advisable to bring Kuna or Euros to Croatia in June?

We have paid for our accommodation by bank transfer in euros. So all we need is spending money for bus, ferry, food, drink etc.

How easy is it to get money from cash tills?

Thanks in anticipation.

Mike

Kuna, as it's official currency in Croatia. Some places will accept Euros as well, but not all of them.

Just back from Hvar and get some kuna .Some places list prices in euros but not sure if you get a great exchange rate.In the main square there is a currency exchange place.

Hi Mike

We are going to Cavtat, near to Dubrovnik at the beginning of August. We emailed the lady we are renting the apartment off & she said to bring Euros. How did you get on? Are we better with Kunas? What do the cash machines dispense?

Your help, along with any other 'top tips' would be appreciated!

Thanks

Debbie

Cash machines dispense kunas. Many accommodation and other service providers quote in Euros and Kunas and will take both. However prices are "set" in kunas and then converted into Euros so probably best to concentrate on getting kunas but make sure you know the kuna price in advance and a realistic exchange rate.

You get a better exchange rate by using the ATMs here in Croatia rather than buying Croatian Kunas in the UK - there are lots of cashpoints in every town and at the airports

Although accommodation is quoted in Euros you can pay in Croatian Kuna

Have a good trip !
