Amfora or Palace Hotel in Hvar?

Any recommendations if it would be better to stay at the Amfora which is outsde the town or at the Palace Hotel in town ? We are more beach people than pool people but having said that would lie at the pool for an hour or 2 each day. We only have 3 nights and 2 days on Hvar as the ferry comes in from Dubrovnik late in the afternoon . We have not yet decided if we should drive to split and get the catamaran to Hvar or take the ferry so if anyone has any advice please tell.

If you prefer a beach scene then the Amfora is best. If you want to be in the village and enjoy the promenade at your front door then the Palace, or Park Hotels. Amfora is more like a resort hotel. Hotels in the town do not have a beach scene.

Split is a great City and I prefer it over Dubrovnik as there is no wall keeping the views and water scene hidden from the residents. It is also a City living and evolving from a Roman Palace. Take a day and explore the City then get to Hvar for a great couple of days.

Enjoy John
