Rovinj to Venice

Hi there, going to Rovinj on 14th June, is it best to book the trip with Thomson (who we have booked holiday with) or wait until we get into the resort. Is there a drastic price difference?

Any help appreciated.

Many thanks.

Tina

There are many local agencies selling the Venice trip and they are mostly cheaper too.

Hi we are going to Rovinj in 3 weeks and like you booked to go with Thomsons, we want to go to Venice and I wondered how you got on when you went, did you do the Thomsons trip or wait until you arrived there? Any other tips, or places to visit?

Thomson wanted 520 kuna each for the trip we booked the trip in the town for 369 kuna each basically the trip is exactly the same with the same optional extra's the guide on the boat was very helpful, we took the extra's which were the gondola's which cost 25euro each, water taxi which was also the same price. Both were very good but wouldn't recommend the lunch though which was 20 euro each it was nice but very rushed, there are some nice cafe's and restaurants up the alley ways which are not overly priced though l would purchase a map as it is easy to get lost and if you are late for the ferry you will get left behind. We thoroughly enjoyed the day and l would highly recommend doing it we plan to have a weekend there sometime.

Thanks for that information. Also we were wondering if you could get the ferry/catermaran independantly from Rovinj to Venice and do the sightseeing yourself. Does anyone know where the ferry docks(ie walking distance from St Marks etc).
