can we see all main sight seeing of MUNNAR in 2-3 days? or How we should plan to visit Munnar? Please guide, thanks.

One day is enough for Munnar sight seeing (Mattupettu Lake, Dam, Eco Point etc). You can do that by taxi. Even auto-rickshaw is also convenient for sight seeing. The sights are not far off. 2 days in Munnar is recommended.

Hi,

3Days required for Munnar sight seen.

Day-01. Arriving at Munnar, after refreshments, sight seen at Mattupetty dam, echopoint, kundala dam, indo swiss project, photo point, up to Top Station

covering these tourist spots, boating at Kundala, it will take one day.

if time allows come back to Munnar and visit Pothanmedu view point.

Day-02.

After breakfast proceed to Eravikulam National Park, Rajamala,. Tata Tea museum and back to Munnar., Afternoon visit Lock heart gap, Power house waterfalls, if time allows have a Jeep safari to Kolukkumalai (high attitude tea plantations.)back to resort.

Day-03.

After breakfast proceed to Chinnar wild life sanctuary. if time allows visit

marayoor sandalwood forest, Muniayras, and back to Munnar.

Good Evening

I have read the below guildline posted by few TA friends, so thought to write to you.

Minimum of 3 days (full) are required to see Munnar. You cannot do anything in just 1 day.

A great planning is required if you are planning a good vacation.

You are requested to go through the below:

Day 01 - Towards Mattupetty Direction (Full day) covering Mattupetty Dam, Top Station, Echo point, Kundala lake, shooting point, photo view point etc

Day 02 - Eravikulam National Park - for half day, you have to reach in the morning or tickets will not be available. Afternoon visit to tea museum and evening shopping at Munnar town

Day 03 - Pothamedu area, view points, Forest Flower garden, Hydel Park and afternoon visit to Chinnakkanal area covering Devikulam. In chinnakanal you can see Lock Heart View Point, Elephant arrival spot and dam.

Optional tours are: Trip to Chinnar wild life (night safari is the best), Kodagu malai by jeep, Kathakali & Kalaripayattu show , Ayurvedic massage, visit to tea factory, check for permission to Indo swiss project of cattles (may be closed for tourists), plantation visit, visit to Attukal waterfalls, old church in Munnar etc.

Sight seeing day1

Pick up from Airport/Railway Station…proceeds to the Hotel in Munnar… The cab will stop in many of the places on the way to enjoy the beautiful nature, sceneries and of course you can avoid a hasty trip. Hence our trip may extend as per your wish till you check in to the hotel.

Check in to the hotel and taking rest till 16:00 Hrs. Proceeding to Munnar Town …Visit Munnar market as per your wish. Evening by 19:30 Hrs coming back to the Hotel and proceed to the Dinner in the Restaurant.

Finish your breakfast before 09:30 AM and Proceed to Munnar at 10:00 AM

Sight seeing towards MATTUPETTY Side.

1.) Photo point,

2.) Mattupetty Dam - 15 Minutes Boat Drive in this Dam.

3.) Echo point (The natural Echo phenomenon is always happening here), 4.) Shooting point. 5.) Kundale Lake.

Coming back to the town for Lunch. Lunch Break at 13:30 Hrs till 14:30 Hrs.

Visiting Tea Museum at 15:00 Hrs and continuing the sight seeing till the evening.

Evening visit Blossom park, Pothenmedu view point and Evening by 18:30

DEVIKULAM: An enchanting Hill station. The Sita Devi Lake with its mineral waters and picturesque surroundings. Powerhouse water falls, Anayirankal Dam.

Coming back to the town for Lunch. Lunch Break at 13:30 Hrs till 14:30 Hrs.

Continue the local sight seeing after lunch towards Coimbatore Direction.

1.) Nyamakadu water falls,

2.) Anaimudy view (South India Highest peak – 8841 feet from sea level = 2695 meters) 3.) Eravikulam National Park – RAJAMALA- Where you can sea the rare species- Mountain Goat).

Munnar Sight seeing place :-

Pothanmedu: - (6 km from Munnar) the rolling hills and the lush mountains here are ideal for trekking & long mountain walks.

Devikulam: - (07 km from Munnar) Devikulam or “the pond of Goddess” is named so, as it is believed that Sita, the consort of Lord Rama, once bathed here in the lake. This idyllic hill station with its velvet lawns, exotic flora & fauna and the cool mountain air is a rare experience. The Devikulam Lake is also ideal for trout fishing.

Attukad: - (09 km from Munnar) A land of waterfalls and inviting green hills, Attukad, located between Munnar & Pallivasal, is a feast for the eyes. The place is excellent for long treks.

Nyayamkad: - (10 km from Munnar) Located between Munnar & Rajamala, Nyayamakad is land of breathtaking waterfalls.

Mattupetty: - (13 km Munnar) Situated at a height of 1700 m, Mattupetty is known for its highly specialized diary farm – the Indo Swiss Livestock project. The Mattupetty Dam just a short distance from the farm is a very beautiful picnic spot.

Lockhart Gap :- ( 13 Km from Munnar) this is an ideal place for adventure tourism and trekking. The fresh mountain air, the mist – clad hills and panoramic view make it worth the visit

Rajamala: - (15 km Munnar) this is the natural habitat of the endangered Nilgiri Thar (Mountain Goats). The total number of Nilgiri Tahrs in Rajamala is estimated at 1317.

Top Station: - Located on the Kerala‘s border of Tamil nadu, it affords a spectacular view over the Western Ghats

Eravikulam National Park: - (15 km from Munnar) the main attractions of this park situated in the Devikulam Taluk are the Nilagiri Tahr and the Neelakurinji flowers that bloom just once in 12 years. The Highest peak in South India, Anamudi (2695 m), is located in the southern region of the park.

Visiting time: - 0800 – 1700 hrs

Marayoor: - (40 km from Munnar) this is the only place in Kerala that has a natural growth of sandalwood trees.

Thommankuthu: - (17 km from Thodupuzha) Famous for its seven – step waterfall, Thommankuthu is an ideal place for adventure tourism, pedal boating, forest trekking, night camping, bathing in the waterfall etc are some of the activities possible here.
