Hi Kerala Dayz,

I don't think the places you have listed out are OFFBEAT. Can you suggest some, which are not on the normal tourist's map? I feel the OP is looking for something like that.

@swatistravel - You might check the options like Elephant Camps, Canoeing in the back waters, Village Walks, plantation tours, martial arts etc., which might be offbeat. And if you are a wildlife or birds person, there are enough sanctuaries to look at. If you indicate what exactly you are looking for, then you might get a lot of suggestions.

Regards

Prasanna

If you are interested in hiking the hills which is also offbeat you can try out Malayattoor , which is a small village 40 kms from Kochi and which is famous for the visit of the disciple of Jesus Christ - St Thomas and the only international Shrine in Asia.

If you are looking for virgin beaches you can also try out beaches like Andhakaranazhi which are pristine and not touristy.

Hi,

If you want really off the beaten track then try Kannur for beaches and Nelliampathy for scenery and some wildlife.

There are links to pictures in the above VERY LONG reports.

Also bear in mind they are from 2009. We visited Kannur (Ezhara Beach House) again last November and the rates have gone up, but so has the quantity of food!
