Hi Shanu10,

Welcome to Trip Advisor.

If you are a adventure seeking person, I would suggest you to also consider Thekkady as there are immense scope for adventure or wildlife tourism. Check out the tiger trails program, bamboo rafting, adventure walks, Gavi tourism etc. You may check the website of Periyar Tiger Reserve for more information. I personally feel Thekkady or Parambikulam a better option than Munnar for this kind of a trip.

Hi

Or your other option could be Parambikulam (www.parambikulam.org). You get to see wildlife in pristine wilderness, stay in Tents, Tree Houses or even an island stay. You can go on guards assisted treks etc.

If you are interested in Soft Trekking you can opt for a stay in NatureZone or Camp Noel. Nature Zone has tent and tree house and offers an amzing view of Munnar town. However there are no lakes near by :).

If yu are really interested in above average adventure activities you should try out trekking in Anaimudi or Meesapulimala. Anaimudi is the highest peak in South India but now the trekking as been banned and Meesapulimala is the best option for hard trekking. There are trekking programs available where you can stay in night in a sleeping bag/ tent and return back the next day afternoon.

Another option in Munnar is farm stays like cloud farm that offers trekking and camp fire as well.

Thekkady should also be a good option for you and there are rafting programs by Forest department and tour to Gavi in a Jeep. You may get the stay near lake also as an option in Thekkady.

Hope this helps :)
