Dear Shylaja,

August is a good time to visit in Kerala and these are the main destinations. In our Kerala calendar from AUG 16 the month called “CHIGANM “the time of wealth and prosperity. This month you will get good sunny days with lots of greenery and waterfalls after rain. It’s also a good time for purchase anything from Kerala you will get lots of discount and verities. In every hotel you will get special Kerala foods .any way its good time to visit in Kerala.

Hi

Ya mid August is good time to visit Kerala. You can enjoy total greenery of munnar with all active waterfalls. Normally climate also used to be pleasant during this period.

For kerala coming August is an important time as Onam festival is falling during the last week

As you have 4 nights 5 days for your trip, my suggestion is to go for 2 nights in Munnar, 1 night in Thekkady and 1 night in Alleppey(preferably Houseboat)

With Regards

Jothis

Hi Yonas

The second half of Aug is the beginning of the Malayalam month of "Chingam" which is traditionally associated with reduced rains and better climate.

I suggest u plan ur trip so that it coincides with the Onam celebrations in the last week of Aug. Although Onam is on 29 Aug, festivities start a few days earlier.

You can also plan to include boat racing on the Pamba River in Chakkulath or boat races in Arumala which are a treat to watch. Obviously, I am also hinting at a house boat stay which adds further diversity and charm in ur trip.

Regards.
