Transport and Hotels

My sister and I are looking at going to the Full Moon Party in February 2014. We quite liked the look at Santhyia and Buri Rasa which are in Thong Nai. From my understanding, this is quite a distance from beach that the Full Moon Party is on. So an option was to stay somewhere a bit closer like Milky Bay for a couple of days so we are closer.

What would everyone reccomend? Is it easy to get transport from Thong Nai to the Full Moon Party (both ways)? Is is better to stay closer to the party or should it be fine to get to commute? Another thing, what is the best way to get from the ferry to Thong Nai? Is there regular transport and what sort of cost is it?

Also what is Thong Nai like in February?

Any advice or reccomendations would be great!

Thanks!

Hi

Don't forget that most hotels / hostels will require a 3-5 day minimum stay around the FMP time

What would everyone reccomend?

A] we are not you. You need to consider what is important to you.

Is it easy to get transport from Thong Nai to the Full Moon Party (both ways)?

A] yes, Most hotels will arrange transfers to the FMP, and you will also find folks along the beach offering transfers.

Is is better to stay closer to the party or should it be fine to get to commute?

A] only you can decide that. Do you want to arrange transfers or are you happy to be near the party . . .

Another thing, what is the best way to get from the ferry to Thong Nai?

A] Best way is a personal thing, but from the ferry port there are always lots of songthews offering transfers.

Is there regular transport and what sort of cost is it?

A] yes, can't help on the costs, but remember that you are travelling at a very popular time when drivers can ask a premium! Most crash on the beach until later in the day!

Also what is Thong Nai like in February?

A] nice area
