I went on raja ferry bc I bought a transfer with airsia tickets, getting there was the slowest because there were cars in it, then sea tran from koh phangan to koh tao which was delayed for 1 hr and 15 minutes. Finally took lompraya back from Koh tao to the Don sak pier by far the fastest and punctual out of all 3.

Definitely Lompraya

Lomprayah is your best bet. You can book at your hotel or through one of the agencies or even at the pier itself in Maenam. The ferries go from Maenam to Phangan at 8am and 12.30pm and only take 25 minutes.

Where on the island are you staying? If Haad Rin, the speedboat won't be of much help since it doesn't have a stop on this part of the island. Good luck and enjoy!

Lomprayah stops at Thong Sala, the main town on Koh Phangan - from there you can easily get taxis to any part of the island. I somehow doubt the OP is going to Haad Rin.

Hi,

Lomprayah is your best bet by far if you are travelling over from Koh Samet.

Hi.

I did a booking on ferrysamui.com for around $40 for two.

They have boats to koh phangan from all the piers in koh samui.

ferrysamui.com use the same ferries that we have mentioned and charge you a commission top as well - it does not have it's own special ferries.

It's true that one can easily get taxis from Thong Sala to any part of the island. It takes approx 25 min to get to Haad Rin from Thong Sala via taxi, however, so you may not end up saving any time (or money obviously, since the speedboat is slightly more expensive than the slow boat). Cassnu, I just thought it would be helpful to point out the speedboat issue since I somehow did not see it mentioned anywhere in this forum (and discovered it only after we got to KS). OP did not specify where on the island they are heading, but if my post saves even one person from confusion heading to Haad Rin, it's worth mentioning. And btw, OP, we just returned from a week in Haad Rin and found it quite peaceful so don't be deterred by all the FMPs etc. Just check the calendars and pick a spot reviewed highly in terms of your target vaca. Enjoy!
