Thailand Beaches

Anyone got any suggestions for a beach area that isn't too commercial and touristy but with plenty to see and do to keep us occupied for 5-6 days?

March/April are the hottest times of the year so as long as you like the heat you will enjoy it. Khao Lak is pretty laid back with plenty of tours to do, you could also look at Koh Lanta and the Krabi area.

You could head to Koh Samui for tropical island style.

If you want beach but also Thai culture, national parks with nature, wildlife etc then try the coast south of Bangkok around Hua Hin. Cheap and easy to get to by taxi / limo, bus or train.

Night markets, street stalls, over the water and other dining, lots of sightseeing and nature + beach. Beaches are not the greatest but big plus is so much to see and do also
