Where should you hire a bike in Ko Tao?

I have read horrible stories of scams and people being ripped off by bike shops. Are there any trust worthy reputable dealers out there?

Hi

Yes there are some and they have been mentioned on the forum in previous posts. Perhaps send a private message to some of the forum members who live on Koh Tao and they also may have places to suggest.

I would say though if you're not a very experienced rider then Koh Tao is not the place to learn to be. Make sure your travel insurance will cover any accidents, especially if you don't have an IDP. Don't leave your passport, with anyone. It's illegal, any reputable shop will take a cash deposit (although it will be substantial).

Safe and happy travels
