Easy to get a taxi??

Are there always plenty of taxis available at the Wadi Araba border coming from Eilat going to Wadi Rum or Petra?

And at Wadi Rum Visitor Centre, how likely is it just to turn up and get a taxi to either Petra or the border?

Also the 2-hours Jeep tours you can take from the visitor Centre at Wadi Rum, do they need to be pre-booked? Can you book them?

Would it be cheaper to take several separate taxis or book one the whole way from Wadi Araba Border - Wadi Rum -(2-3 hour jeep tour) - Petra??

There are taxis waiting at border crossing, but it is better to book in advance if you can with a reliable trust worth agent.

At Wadi Rum you may not get a taxi when you want one so it is better to prearrange one

You can book jeep tour when you arrive

cheers

Your tour guide can always call one for you, but it would be coming either from Aqaba or from Petra, so you would need to wait.

A two hour tour of Wadi Rum (hardly worth doing!!!) is booked from the Visitors' Centre, and the charge depends on how many people are in the vehicle, in other words, impossible to know in advance.

The standard taxi charges from the border are 30/35JD to Wadi Rum and 35JD from Wadi Rum to Petra.

You would need to ask a driver how much he would charge for the whole trip and how much for the waiting time.

Hi

There're a plenty of taxis at Araba border , to book a car for the whole day is cheaper and much better, you will not find a taxi at Wadi Rum visitor center, the separate taxi will cost you more, just ask how much the cost will be for your whole trip, a guide to meet you at the border will not let you wait , they will be waiting for earlier than the arrival time, if that guide is professional, How to find a good guide with a car ? Just do your home work, search on the internet & TripAdvisor for a tour guide in Jordan, read the reviews, decide the best that fit your budget and the best quality of services according to the reviews. contact more than one and decide. Enjoy your stay in Jordan.
