Lodges in Tsavo East

I'm beginning to look at lodges as we are visiting Kenya (Mnarani Club) next summer!!! :) And We are planning on going for a safari in Tsavo East and we're just wondering if anyone has any good suggestions.....

We don't want touristy, big lodges; basic tents would be fine :) We just want a memorable animal experience!

Any suggestions would be great

Thanks

In Tsavo East I would highly recommend Satao Camp. I've stayed there several times and rate it as one of the best in Kenya in terms of value for money and wildlife experience. Authentic, comfortably furnished safari tents, with very large, plumbed-in bathrooms. There's always a lot of wildlife action in camp (no fences, thank goodness) and it's far from any other camps in Tsavo East, meaning you can often do a game drive and barely meet any other vehicles.

Happy planning!

I would second Satao as well, and would echo Richards comments.

If you budget stretches, have a look at Galdessa Camp as well.

Voi Safari Lodge! Just kidding.....

Galdessa is special and heard only good things about Satao camp.

You won't get a gob-smacking better view anywhere than the view from the terrace at Voi Safari Lodge.

In Tsavo East it would have to be Satao a lovely little camp. but I also like Ngutuni which is in its own private sanctuary bordering the park

Satao is ideal and for a special occasion Galdessa but be sure to go on the Walking Safari. My son & daughter-in-law went on their honeymoon & were blown away by the Bush Breakfast with their own chef hiding behind some trees cooking their breakfast to order!

I'm with Tembofan - the views are amazing from Voi Safari Lodge and if you have an orphan ele makes it all the most worthwhile to stay here.

Hi everyone...

Trying to decide between Satao & Lions Bluff.

We're a definite on Saltlick!

Any opinions?

Thankyou

Laura
