It's not registered as a hotel or b&b on trip advisor, so just a quick word about Pak Long's Chalet on Salang Beach!
We had two rooms between 7 people (the beds are pretty big). And over the course of the weekend we encountered mini disasters like bed bugs, dirty sticky walls, no water pressure, air-con broke - none of these actually a huge problem, since the rooms were very cheap.
However on the first night, we all passed out exhausted after a day of diving swimming sunning... and woke up in the morning and the door was ajar... not a big deal either - it had just popped off the hinges - nothing was stolen. UNTIL WE FOUND A MASSIVE POO AT THE BOTTOM OF OUR BED.
Tioman has loaaads of feral cats and lots of monkey's too - so we don't actually know what animal sneaked into our room and did a massive poo - but when we ran down to reception traumatised (and covered in poo) the reception lady said she was so sorry and of course it would get cleaned up. IT DID NOT GET CLEANED UP. The hotel then systematically blamed us all individually for poo-ing on our own bed so they didn't have to clean it. Insulting us and being nasty....
We've never been treated like this in a whole year of travelling around South East Asia. And this hotel will push you to the edge. There are only so many unfortunate events before a poo on the bed scenario just isn't even funny.
Don't stay here - customer service isn't a term they're aware of.
Pretty sure the chances of poo on the bed are as slim as winning the lottery - so enjoy Tioman, just stay away from the Pak Long's Chalet!!
