Money at Perhentian Besar

We will be staying (2 people) for 3 nights with no meals included in chalet rate. Can you help me with deciding how much money will be sufficient for that time? Let's say that just for foods and drinks as for water taxis and activities prices are easily available and will differ in each case.

Also, we will be flying from Singapore to Kota Bahru on tough schedule and prefer to have money already changed in Singapore. Is it possible to get MYR for USD or EUR at Singapore Airport? How the rate will differ from the one at Kota Bahru airport. How is the rate in Malaysian ATMs?

Safer to bring RM1,000 -1,500.Use Malaysian ATM cheaper rate than in Singpore. Try CIMB bank. Advise withdraw early on mainland before going to the island.

Just to update quickly on meal / drink prices on Perhentian Besar (I will try to write longer post later):

Less expensive on the south-west (Abdul's, Cocohut) than West and North.

South-west beach:

Milo, tea, coffee, soft drinks, water 1.5l - 3 RM

Magnum ice cream - 6-7 RM

Milk shakes, juices - 6-8 RM

Breakfast set - 6-16 RM

Set lunch / dinner - 12-14 RM

BBQ - 25-30 RM

So for eating 90-100 RM / daily for two seems to be sufficient unless you drink alcohol.

There are small shops. Prices not so different from Kuala Besut.

In Abdul's you can pay for meals on departure also with credit card with 3% commission
