A few Questions

I will be leaving for Sri Lanka on 8 Aug,staying at the Royal Palms. Im just wondering is it better to get my travellers cheques in sterling,dollars or Euros? I am taking some sterling for tipping at the airport.

Also can anyone recommend a reliable beach boy for trips out etc.We are two single women travelling so safety is a priority.Is it better to use the beach boys or go through the hotel?

Thanks in advance

Hi Lou,

Just Euro (supposing that's your primary bank account and not the sterling one). Cheapest for you, gives more rupees per pound than when you first convert to 3rd currency. And you avoid all hassles when you use an ATM card (Maestro or Cirrus).

Can't recommend specific BB's there. In general their quality CAN equal that of the hotel, with often lower price, as long as you check for

* AC car

* full insurance

* Driver with license from SL tourist board as a qualified guide

* Fixed address for contracts, to have something where you can lodge complaints if things go wrong. With only a person walking on the beach, the days after a problem those tend to disappear suddenly...

Have a nice stay,

Hi Lou,

Since you are 2 females & safety is the priority better not to arrange trip from beach boys to be on the safeside. Better arrange through the hotel or any other reputed company becuase eventhough it's little expensive its reliable.
