Is this a good itinerary?

This itinerary has been suggested for our three weeks in India. I welcome input and recommendations about the schedule. I am not sure that a night over in Jodhpur is necessary. I am under the impression from other TA suggestoins that 2-3 days in Udaipur would be okay.

Thank you.

Day 2- Delhi

Day 3- Delhi to Udaipur by night train

Day 4- Udaipur

Day 5- Udaipur to Jodhpur, 6 hrs, via Kumbhalgarh Fort & Ranakpur Jain Temple

Day 6- Jodhpur

Day 7- Jodhpur to Pushkar (4 hrs)

Day 8- Pushkar to Jaipur (3 hrs)

Day 9- Jaipur

Day 10- Jaipur to Ranthambhore (4 hrs)

Day 11- Ranthambhore

Day 12- Ranthambhore to Agra (5 hrs, via Fatehpur Sikri)

Day 13- Agra to Varanasi by night train

Day 14- Varanasi

Day 15- Varanasi

Day 16- Varanasi to Amritsar by flight

Day 17- Amritsar

Day 18- Amritsar to Delhi by flight

Day 19- Delhi

Looks Ok. You can see everything in Udaipur in one day. Jodhpur is a nice quiet city and I personally think an overnight trip is justified.

I think Udaipur to Jodhpur with 1.5 hours at Kumbulgarh and the same at Ranakpur with an hour for lunch is likely to take more like 8 or 9 hours, so allow time.

It's a shame you can't fit in Jaisalmer, which I liked more than Udaipur personally, but others have a different opinion.

Yes it looks good and doable.

Travelling time mentioned between the cities is on lower side and it may take little more because of road conditions and traffic so take that in to account.

Enjoy your trip.

Happy travelling....

Hi Got2go

Just a few suggestions -

1 - Consider a night in Ranakpur and 1 night in Jodhpur in place of 2 nights in Jodhpur

2 - One night should be enough for Amritsar. In any case you may not get a connecting flight Varanasi to Amritsar and may need to break in Delhi. If you can move Amritsar to the start of the tour before you go Delhi-Udaipur. You can do Amritsar conveniently both ways by train from Delhi

Have a great trip!

Not sure when you are planning this trip. The places that you are planning in Rajasthan are very very hot from April to July. For a comfortable weather plan your trip during October to Feb i.e. winter
