On 3rd March on the day of arrival spend a night in Delhi with some s/s at your convenience.

Following day catch a train to Agra...Bhopal Shatabdi Express is the best train on this route takes 2 hours one way...leaving Delhi at 6 am getting to Agra at 8.10 am.....same returns to Delhi in evening...leaving Agra at 20.15 hours getting to Delhi at 22.30 hours. You get plenty of time to cover the sites like Taj Mahal,Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri....but a night at Agra is highly suggested to do the things slowly.

You can catch flight from Delhi to Goa.

2. Re: what to do

you should pre book a cab at the New Delhi airport to pick you up and take you around Delhi sight seeing and the next morning take the early morning train to Agra - Bhopal Shadabdi

You can visit the famous tourists spot in Agra in one day's time and can come back by the evening Bhopal shatabdi to Delhi or can stay the night and have a look at the taj once again and can come back to Delhi as there are no flight from Agra , but if you want to travel to Goa by train you can catch the train directly from Agra as well

please note all railways bookings must be done in advance as these routes are heavily booked in advance

Hi ! Highly recommend you book a pickup with the Delhi hotel. Rest of the schedule would depend on how many days would you like to spend here. If no. of days and budget permits, book a 3N stay in Delhi. An itinerary may look like :

Day 1 - Arrive Delhi (late at night)

Day 2 - Delhi local sight-seeing

Day 3 - Delhi-Agra-Delhi

Day 4 - Delhi-Goa

If you have more days in hand, visit Jaipur as well. A 2N in Jaipur in recommended for enjoying the beautiful city. You would do - Delhi-Agra-Jaipur-Delhi and then Delhi-Goa.

The owner of the B&B I stay at argues against a RT on the train to Agra because it gets you back so late. Do you really need 14 hours in Agra? You will be hassled endlessly.

Your options would be

1) travel to Agra by the 12780 Goa Express departing Delhi ( Nizamuddin station) at 1505 and reaching Agra at 1745. You can book a car to meet you at the airport and have your lunch at Indian Accent at The Manor Hotel and continue to the railway station.

You could take the 12780 Goa Express from Agra to Madgaon in Goa leaving Agra at 1750 and reaching Goa at 0540 on the day after, ( you will end up spending two nights on the train) These trains will need to be pre- booked

2) spend the night in Delhi and travel to Agra next morning by the shatabdi as suggested. probably a good idea to spend the night in Agra.Return by taxi to borad your flight to Goa.

One night in Agra is definitely enough to see the two main sights, the Taj and the red fort. Taj is very memorable at dawn.

The fastest trains (as others have said) go to Agra early morning and return late. A viable alternative now for two is to hire a car and driver - there is now a world class motorway from delhi to agra so hotel to hotel would be 3 to 3.5 hours, not much more than a train if you count the waiting time and transfer times from hotel to and from train station.

Having a car and driver in Agra takes the hassle out of getting around agra and dealing with tuk tuks etc.

Whichever way you go, train or car, you will find it interesting! All the best
