Your planing is perfect and is all doable in given span of time...the only thing is a train trip between Agra and Varanasi because sometime it gets foggy in Dec...train gets late.

While driving from Jaipur to Agra if possible visit Fatehpur Sikri a world heritage monument.

Thanks and Regards

Hi,

Your plan is almost fine but the following is my comments to make your plan more better....

01. Hotel selection

Delhi - Shanti Home : It is too far from city center , I would suggested you to stay any city center hotel at least for your the first visit. Shanti home is a just upgraded overpriced guest house for me.

Jaipur - Shahpura House is a good option in mid range, Royal heritage Haveli is more better option.

Varanasi - Suryodaya Haveli is good hotel and have very prominent location , it is good choice. As Alternate you may try Jukaso Ganges which is equally good but both hotels are overpriced.

Tour :

Day 01 Delhi

Day 02 Delhi

Day 03 Delhi - Varanasi ( Morning Flight )

Day 04 Varanasi - Agra ( By Evening , overnight train )

Day 05 Arrive Agra in Morning, Afternoon visit Agra

Day 06 Agra - Fatehpur Sikri-Bharatpur - Jaipur ( By Car )

Day 07 Jaipur

Day 08 Jaipur -Delhi ( By Car )

Day 09 Delhi - out

I would suggest you to use flight and train journey in beginning , if train or flight delayed or cancelled then also itinerary will be well in control.

Apart from Delhi , good shopping options are available in Varanasi & Jaipur too. Brocade Silk ,Silk Pashmina, Woolen carpets , silk items are quite cheaper in Varanasi compare to other places, similarly Jaipur is famous for Gems , Jewellory, Rugs , Handicraft , Block printed items , obviously Agra for Marble items. So it is not necessary to stay long in Delhi for shopping.

Swedish people are nature loving so you should include Ranthambhore national park too to see tigers.

Hope the above will help you.

Hi kallander..

Suggestions given by rashid ji and harimangal ji are really very useful.

You itinerary is perfect..you are giving good time at each place to explore the destinations more..

For shopping in delhi you can try markets like..karol baug, lajpath nagar, cannaught place, palika bazar etc..do bargain on whatever you select.. There are so many good and big malls in south-extension of delhi..

In varanasi..as per suggested by harimangalji..you can do ethnic and traditional cloth shopping..there are market like godolia bazar, maidagen etc..where you can do hand crafted cloths..before buying do judge the hand work properly and also bargain ..cloths of varanasi are very famous and lasting..

Don't forget to attend an "aarti" at dashaswamedh ghat..a ritual ceremony which takes over on daily basis..you will always remember..

Your hotel selection is almost good..I stayed in the hotel you selected at varanasi..very nice hotel..

Have a nice journey

Hi,

The Retreat & Taj Resorts are good option. These are mid range good hotel. You should see Ranthambhore too by adding a couple of days in your itinerary. Even though , you can manage to see it in 09 days time too.

In Agra you can look at hotel Amar or Hotel Mansingh palace. Heritage home, Garden villa are good home stays.
