Money and cash management in New Delhi for a tourist

Hello,

My trip to New Delhi is on december

I will take with me three visa credit cards, and arround 1000 euro cash

- How available are ATMs in new delhi ?

- How available are currency exchange shops ?

- In case of extra cash unspent at the time of leaving India, is that possible to convert it to USD or euros at the airport ?

Regards

There many restaurants, hotels , travel agents and shops are available who will accept credit card payment gladly. No need to use ATMS, if you should require to use ATMS , there are many in all locations.

You may exchange your money with banks/ hotels/ money changers and are in large number in all tourist locations.

If any indian rupees left you may convert it in US $ and EURO , but you should need encashment certificate means if you change any money from bank or money changer , do not forget to collect encashment certificate. With out this certificate , you won't be able to convert indian rupees into US$ / Euro.

Hi-

ATM you can find easily in all the cities of India but you don't exchange any foreign corency from the airport or hotel because you will get 4 to 7 rupees less then the local market.

If you have booked you tour with some travel agent then 1000 Euros will be enough for your stay, if not then you have to withdraw cash from the ATM.

You can ealiy find ATM's that is not an issue in India. Also I will suggest you not to frequently use those ATM as you have to pay Bank Charges which will be a significant amount.

There are many currency exchange shops in Delhi in each place, Also you can get some currency converted at Airport or at your hotel.

Yes you can also get it converted back in USD or Euros when you leave India .
