You should hire Auto Rickshaw for Red Fort & Paratha Vaali gali, as it is near from Red Fort then take Metro from Chandani Chowk Metro station to Qutub Tower and return to New Delhi Station by Metro. It will be cheap and convenient.

Suruchi is better restaurant.

From NDLS take an autorickshaw to the Red Fort. Ask him to drop you at the entrance where the ticket counter is there.

When you come out of Red Fort, just cross the road. You will see red colour Jain Mandir, next to that is Gauri Shankar Mandir, and further down is Sees Ganj Gurudwara (all this is on main Chandni Chowk). Just before Sees Ganj there is turning for Parathewali Gally, just ask anyone locally.

After that, take another rickshaw and drive through the Old Delhi markets, just tell the rickshaw guy you want a half hour ride, many of them handle tourists and they know it. Places to see are Khari Baoli, Kinari Bazaar, Dariba, Jama Masjid, etc and ask him to drop at Chawri Bazaar Metro Station.

By Metro, go to Rajiv chowk (Connaught Place). Take autorickshaw for rest of the day, ask him to show you India Gate, Parliament House, President House, Qutb Minar and drop you back to NDLS. Furthest point is Qutb Minar, if you don't have time then you can drop that. Instead of that you can see Birla Mandir and Gurudwara Bangla Saheb.

Also do note that the gali now has only 3-4 authentic shops, the rest have all fallen by the wayside.
