Golden triangle : train vs car and driver

Just interested to find out if anybody has done this tour entirely by train rather than using hte traditional car and river option

Are there any downsides of going by train or any positives ?

You can save your time and money if you hire car as for local travel to each city you have to hire car which finally cost you more than hire a car for complete trip.

If you are on 3 nights/ 4 day hectic tour then hire a car. If you have more time then can go by train.

Only thing you need to take care is to prebook your train tickets and arrange local transport in each station.

Using a car and driver allows you to go at your own pace and see things that the train would not. We had a great experience driving with Rakesh Yadav at laltours (http://www.laltours.com/). He took us through the golden triangle and Udaipur in 9 days. His vehicle was great, he was a safe driver, and he was always courteous to make sure we were taken care of. Message me if you have any questions!

Train is perfect if you are on a shoe-string budget and are ok to get rickshaws everywhere. For anyone who is not on a shoe string and doesn't want to deal with local rickshaws, the train is a really silly option, saving neither time nor money, with no flexibility either.

Hello Yorkshire,

If you wants to have train experience in Agra and Jaipur tour we have two good options one is Delhi Agra morning Shatabadi Aircon chair car and it take two and half an hour to reach Agra, good experience, the second is Jaipur Delhi again there is a good aircon trains, what I would recommend take mix experiences, car drive and train tour also, I mean you can take Delhi/ agra/ Agra/ Jaipur by car and jaipur/ Delhi by train, and trains are very reasonable price as compare to other part of the world,

Further will apreciate if may include Ranthambore wild life, will be a cherry on a cake, for the destination detail may view and review tripadvisor.com, and regarding the choice of hotels and other questions please go ahead,

if you can afford it hire a car & driver. the convenience seems to be well worth it, plus it also seems a lot safer.
