Rome would be the best possible single city in Europe..So many places and so much history!!!
Just as India is more than the big cities like Delhi, why don't you think about a smaller city where you can do day trips out to see the countryside? Flying into some place like Shannon in Ireland would give you time to explore a bit of rural Ireland. Frankfurt is a major hub and not interesting on its own, but there are lovely places within a short drive from Frankfurt airport. Or you could pick a Swiss city and see some of the mountainous area. Or, if you want a taste of central Europe, try Budapest or Prague. Or, at this time of year Scandanavia should be delightful. Do something different rather than what everyone thinks about as the big 3 in Europe.
thinking different is good but exploring off-beat places comes after someone has already visited the big three!!! doesn't it?
Yes, but the person said s/he has already been to those 3 places. Or, perhaps I misinterpreted the question, and the poster wanted to know which of those 3 to revisit.
A quick look suggests Lufthansa would allow Frankfurt or Munich. Munich has the BMW museum if you're a car fan, plus some wonderful country, especially if you head a couple of hours down into Austria. Maybe head to Innsbruck?
KLM, unsurprisingly = Amsterdam
United = New York
American = London
Delta = Amsterdam
Air France = Paris AND New York
Virgin = London
I'm a big fan of lakes and mountains, having lived in London for 30 years, so I'd actually be tempted to head down into Austria, after a day in Munich and, perhaps, spend your time in the TyrolEdited: 11 May 2012, 18:31
