Mumbai - Shirdi Darshan

Coming to Mumbai on 30th May (Friday) Afteroon with wife and 1 yr Kid. Planned to stay 2 Nights at Iskcon Guest House & do the Mumbai darshan and then on 1st, Leave for Shirdi and come back on 2nd/3rd June. My return Flight is on 3rd June Evening.

I am not sure whether Volvo would be good or Taxi for comfortable travel to Shirdi. what would be the cost difference. If I would come back on 2nd June Night/3rd June Morning. I need a cheap hotel to kill the time/put the luggage, roam around. Please advice.

Hi,

On first June, you may hire a Swift Dezire or Tavera which would cost you around Rs. 12 to 13 per km. (250 km minimum) .

You may first visit Trimbakshwar (start early before 7 a.m. to beat the traffic.). There are many places for breakfast on Mumbai Nashik road. After Trimbakeshwar you can visit other Nashik attrtactions like temples on the bank of Godavari river, Dadasaheb phalke Museum, also Pandav Leni (caves) just next to it if you do not have any problem in climbing a small hill.

Then go to Shridi at night for evening aarti etc. Overnight stay at Shirdi.

Next day again Shirdi Sai darshan and Shani Shinganapur. Further you can also cover Bhimashankar (another shiva temple of 12 Jyotirlinga) and come back to Shirdi or Nashik for overnight stay.

There are number of small and medium good hotels on the highway itself.

On 3rd start leisurely after breakfast and reach Mumbai by noon (it takes around 4 hours to 5 hours depending upon traffic in Mumbai)

Yes taking a car on hire will be best from the point of view of time management.

Shirdi darshans and rooms can be booked online at www.shrisaibabasansthan.org. its always better to book the darshan/aarti online to avoid long queues. Room are also cheap, clean and safe.
