Palladio- awesome, run by an Italian in the Narayan Niwas Hotel in the centre of Jaipur which also serves some of the very good cocktails.
Jaipur Modern - also started by an Italian on the main Sardar Patel Marg, excellent food.
Jamie's Kitchen - on Queens road serves authentic Indian with a few Conti preparations thrown inn. The owner Upendra Jamwal is a very interesting person having a lot many years experience in the hospitality business. Can't miss him as he is extremely healthy a person- rounded up on all sides.
Spice Court- large open Courtyards an excellent Indian, traditional food is served here with lots of activity for children. It's located on Jacobs Road.... Kuldeep Singh, the owner is a old and experienced hand in the food business.
For transportation- moving around in Jaipur, you can hire a Tuk- Tuk for 600 to 800 rupees a day or ask for a Radio taxi as there are a number of options. To be careful of the drivers taking you to the commercial shops for commissions.
For summer April to September-October, light Cotton or Muslin is ok. Beginning November, light woollens are required till end February or at times till mid March for sure.
