There is no obligation to enter Sikkim from Darjeeling, you may do Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Lava, and nearby places. However, if you want to see snow, you will have to go to Nathu La pass in Sikkim. You will require permit which you can get from Indian embassy in Dhaka.

Nationals of Pakistan, Bangladesh, China and Myanmar can be given Inner Line Permits only after approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs in New Delhi.

May log on http://sikkim.nic.in/homedept/ilpfaqs.htm

There will be no snow in and around Darjeeling in May.
