Hotel in Kolkata for 1 night

We are family of 4 (US passport) arriving in CCU at 9:30am flight (BG91) on December 16th and departing with Air India flight to Delhi at 7am on December 17th.

Our plan is to do some traditional Indian cloths shopping and do some sight seeing in Kolkata.

Should we stay near the airport so that we can catch next morning 7am flight easily, or should we stay in Kolkata city?

If we stay in the city, how difficult would it be to catch 7am (AI763) flight on a Monday (Dec 17) morning from CCU?

Please recommend, if we should stay in city on near airport. Please suggest a hotel name (up to US$100)

Since your onward flight is at 7 am, you should report at the airport by 5.30 am. Hence you should stay close to the airport. I would suggest Swissotel[http://www.swissotel.com/reservations/select-room] for your stay.

If you want to buy handloom products of different states of India, you should come to Dakshinapan. This shopping arcade is closed on Sunday (16/12). There are some boutique like 85 Lansdowne, where you can have some traditional Indian fashion ware designed by renowned designers.

you can check the retiring rooms in international airport, if available then take accomodation there, they are comfortable, but you have to arrange food from outside,

will not recomend the hotels around airport, but u can take a prepaid taxi and reach sudder street, /marquis street in park street

Hotel Times International is good hotels to stay for BD nationals with reasonable cost, and the hotel people are too much helpful.

you can roam around park street/ new market for shopping purpose,

Prince/ Kasturi are places to eat

and in morning you can ask the hotel in night to arrange a taxi around 4.30 am for airport, they will do so with smile. so that you can reach the airport by 5.15
