Kolkata , Sundarbans some questions

After Delhi , Agra and Varanasi im going to Kolkata and the Sundarbans .

Witch area in Kolkata is best to stay to do some sightseeing ? Any hotels sugestion for around $30.

After Kolkata i would like to go to the Sunderbans , what is the best way to organise this by tourist operator in Kolkata or is it easy to go to the Sundarbans by my self ?

If possible i would like to avoid the crowded places , i like more the less crowded places ans when in the Sundarbans like to go off the beaten path .

Thx

You may find hotels/Guest house around Lindsay Street, Park Street area. That would be advantageous for moving around. Sundarban can be done in 1N/2D trip (@ Rs.3380-5500) from Kolkata. It should be an escorted trip. May contact Waxpol Hotels and Resorts, +9133 32935749 / 9831170453 / 9830867600. Kolkata@waxpolhotels.com
