Trying to plan 26th Anniversary, Need Help!

My wife and I are looking at spending a week (8/20 - 8/27} in either Gulf Shores or Orange Beach for our anniversary. It has been 20 years since we were in the area so I know everything has changed. I'm looking for a very nice gulf front condo on the beach without a lot of kids running around. School will probably be back in session so that might not be a problem. Our days will consist of sitting on the balcony for breakfast and then heading to the beach. I would like somewhere that has beach service for umbrella and chairs. Our nightlife will consist of good food, drinks and a great atmosphere. The problem is I have no idea of the best condos and locations to search for on VRBO. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I like Royal palms , because they are next to the state park and they are 1 and two bedroom condo's,

Less likely to be crowded and have a lot of kids,

As well as the open beach's of the state park offers plenty of private beach to walk on.

They offer beach service as well.

Excellent suggestion by Fordarama. RP is a medium density property and that two miles of undeveloped beach right next door is nice. Easy, short drive to restaurants in both GS and OB.

Cobalt is a nice restaurant for what you mentioned, though it can be a little loud.

I second Cobalt for your anniversary dinner. Cosmo's is fun too. Take a day trip to Point Clear and have lunch or dinner at The Grand Hotel. It's a beautful historic hotel. Good luck.

A place that we have enjoyed for our nice dinner out the last two times we've visited GS/OB is Lesters. Great food, great service and great atmosphere! I would think the kids should be back in school by that time so it should be quieter. We always stay at the Lighthouse & we usually go in September so we will have that quiet, more romantic type time as well! Happy Anniversary!

Just more food for thought here, for another great restaurant: Louisiana Lagniappe: http://www.louisianalagniapperestaurant.com/

We ate here twice last week and loved it. The food is really good, more upscale, and might be a nice dinner out to celebrate. if you sit near the windows, you'll have views of the marina.I should warn you, though, that the it gets noisy rather quickly in there, so if you're looking for something quiet and romantic, this might not be it. Still--food is fabulous here!
