What is the current condition of jellyfish in the area of Orange Beach? My husband & I will be arriving on the 8th of Sept. I got stung pretty good last year, & it's a bummer when there are jellyfish, you don't want to go into the water!

Haven't heard any complaints lately, but the 8th is a long way off. Jellyfish come and go on their own schedule.

Tropical Storm Isaac washed a bunch of Red Jellyfish larvae up and down the beach but I haven't been down there since the day after the storm. The surfers told me they were everywhere the following days, but it has been a week now since the storm. Best bet is to call the state pier and get a daily report or call one of the surf shops like Blond Johns. The surfers almost always have a better knowledge of what "reality" is when it comes to the water conditions, IMO.

A quick google search will help you find the number for Blond John's. Have a fun trip!
